About

Our History

The South East Sno-Riders (SESR) are a grassroots, non-profit and volunteer driven Snowmobile Club based out of the extreme south east corner of Manitoba. SESR was established in May of 1989 by local community members. Our 2024-2025 season will mark 35 years of service to the Woodridge and surrounding communities.  Today we have grown throughout the years into a group of dedicated Volunteers who create and maintain snowmobile trails while promoting safe and enjoyable riding in southeastern area.

There is over 124,000kms signed and maintained snowmobile trails in Canada and 12,000kms of those are in Manitoba. SESR maintain just over 530 of those snowmobile trails. Our area is Steinbach on the west side, Minnesota on the south side, North West Angle, Minnesota and Ontario on the east side and the TransCanada Highway on the north side. Our trails are approximately 90% in the bush. Come ride with us and experience some of the most scenic views and wildlife that Mother Nature has to offer.

Our club works with federal and provincial associations/organizations and local businesses to carry out numerous recreational and community services. Our funding and our sponsors help us:

  • Patrol and maintain our trails and shelters
  • Organize snowmobile outings and social activities
  • Publish monthly newsletters (November to April)
  • Conduct safety and maintenance training to our volunteers
  • Communicating Hazards and Incidents on or near the designated trail systems
  • Avocation for safety
  • Provide monthly club meetings that our members can attend
  • Provide a place for members and sledders to be heard
  • Monitor legislation and changes on our trails
  • Attend the Snoman Congress
  • Raise funds for charities
  • Recognize the hard work of our members of the Community and Clubs
  • Promote tourism by advertising our sport, community, sponsors and local businesses

VOLUNTEERS

Our volunteers work hard on maintaining the equipment, preparing the trails every year and then grooming the trails every week once the conditions allow us to do so. Along with this, our dedicated board meets monthly from September to April and does a lot of administrative work in the background. It is only with the help of our volunteers and the businesses that support our snowmobile club that make it possible for us to continue to maintain and groom the 530 plus kilometers of trail that SESR take care of.

Volunteers are ALWAYS needed. No amount of time is too little and, big or small, all tasks are important. Please let us know of any time you have available or any project(s) you may wish to participate in.

Contact us at info@sesr.ca if you can help out in anyway or would like to volunteer or donate materials of any sort

It is thanks to the hard work and commitment of volunteers that the warm up shelters and extensive trail systems exist for all to enjoy.
